2005 Annual General Meeting

The 2005 Annual General Meeting took place within the Clubhouse of Linlithgow Bowling Club on Sunday 6th November 2005.

The following are some of the points from the AGM:

PRESIDENT - Jim Kelly (Wigtownshire)
VICE PRESIDENT - Frank Strathearn (Central East)
IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT - Alan Mitchell (Highland)
SECRETARY - Anne Bremner (West Lothian)
TREASURER - Ross Dennis (Perthshire)
P.R. OFFICER - Alan Mitchell (Highland)

INTERNATIONAL TEAM SELECTORS:

1. David Ferguson (Central West)
2. Neil McMonagle (Greater Glasgow)
3. Larry McCloy (Glasgow South)

2006 COMPETITIONS:

NATIONAL FINALS
- Grangemouth BC and Zeneca BC (Grangemouth)
- on Saturday 12th August 2006
VICE PRESIDENT'S TROPHY
- Venue to be decided (in the Falkirk area)
- on Sunday 11th June 2006
INTER COUNTIES FINALS
- Stranraer BC and West End BC (Wigtownshire)
- on Saturday 9th September 2006

ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTIONS:

The Annual Subscriptions remain unchanged at £10 per Club, with £7 being passed onto SYBA and the remaining £3 being retained by the Districts.

OTHER POINTS:

1.National Finals Day
It was agreed that the National Finals would continue to be played on a Round Robin basis through to Semi-Final and Final stages, at which point the games would no longer be timed and would consist of a set number of ends.

The exact number of ends to be played for the Singles, Pairs and Triples would be decided at the next meeting in May 2006.

2.Inter-Counties Competition Rules

It was agreed to implement set rules for the Playdowns and Final stages of the Andy Houston trophy , based around those used by David Ferguson's playdown area.

P.R Officer Alan Mitchell, who maintains the SYBA website was directed to have the rules published on the website for all Districts to be able to access for future use.
