Disclosure Scotland - Convenors and
Representatives (Posted 26th May 2007)
A Meeting of the SYBA Convenors and Representatives took place at
Priorscroft Bowling Club on Sunday 29th April 2007.The
Meeting discussed the "Disclosure Scotland" rules and how they
should be applied to the Scottish Young Bowlers Association.
It was pointed out to the meeting that the rules appear to be in the
process of changing whereby the requirement for a person to obtain
separate disclosures for their involvements in different
organisations etc was no longer to be required.According to the information given to the meeting one disclosure
form should cover all eventualities in the future. On the
basis that this was likely to be brought into force in the coming
months, P.R.O Alan Mitchell proposed that the SYBA should as a
MINIMUM hold
copies of existing Disclosure Forms for ALL Convenors and
Representatives of the Districts involved with the Association.
The Meeting agreed to this proposal unanimously as a first step in
the SYBA ensuring that persons involved with the Association had the
proper disclosures in place.
P.R.O. Alan Mitchell indicated that he was willing to take on the
responsibility of contacting all District Convenors (and their
Representatives) to obtain a copy of the Disclosure Scotland forms
held by them.Mr Mitchell would retain all of these forms
in a central file and would keep it up to date. Any
Convenors or Representatives not holding a Disclosure Scotland -
Standard Disclosure would be requested to obtain one before the AGM
to be held in November 2007.Convenors and Representatives
not holding a Standard Disclosure from Disclosure Scotland at the
AGM would not be allowed to remain in that post until such time as
the disclosure had been obtained.By time for the next AGM
in November 2007 the future position regarding disclosure through
Disclosure Scotland should be clearer and the SYBA should be able to
decide how to deal with persons involved with youngsters in
the Association at levels below that of District Convenor and
District Representative.Alan Mitchell undertook to write
to each District Convenor requesting that they supply him with a
copy of their own Standard Disclosure and also that of their
District Representative.Letters were prepared for issue to
District Convenors on 26th May 2007 requesting an early response and
for everyone involved at Convenor or Representative level to make
sure that they had the relevant Standard Disclosure in place by the
date of the AGM in November. |
