Obituary Notice
RITA MCMONAGLE
"The SYBA lost one of our senior administrators this week. Rita
McMonagle, match secretary of the Greater Glasgow Young Bowlers
Association, passed away peacefully at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary on
the 14th April 2009.
Rita was involved with youth bowls for the last 13 years and was
responsible for promoting youth bowls development among many of her
involvements for the sport in the West of Scotland. Rita was a well
loved person and will be sadly missed among our bowls community"

2008 NATIONAL
SINGLES QUALIFIERS
Congratulations to Alisdair Paton - Whitefield BC on winning the
Greater Glasgow Singles title today at his home club.
Hard luck to Ross Drummond - Garrowhill BC on being narrowly beaten in
an excellent final.
Both players qualify for the National Finals on August 9th at
Grangemouth. Good luck to both.
Thanks to Whitefield BC for the use of their facilities and to all the
markers and officials at the finals.

The 4 section winners met at the
league play offs on Saturday 19th May at Shettleston BC.
Whitevale, Old Kilpatrick , Carmyle & Whitefield BC's took part with
Whitefield BC being the eventual winners.
Congratulations to Dawn Cummings, Alistair Paton & Mark O'Hagan the
winning triple.

Finals took place at Garrowhill BC on Sunday 19th June and the results were as
follows:
